Nico ROSBERG (DE)

Rosberg first drove in Formula One with Williams from 2006 to 2009 and achieved two podium finishes for the team in 2008. For 2010, he moved to Mercedes, partnering fellow German and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. Rosberg took his first career win at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix. From 2013 to 2016, Nico teamed up with former karting friend and eventual seven-time World Drivers' Champion, Lewis Hamilton. In his final season Rosberg defeated Hamilton to win the 2016 title by going to great length, including physical and mental conditioning along with more unconventional methods, such as cutting a few centimeters off his Nomex socks and undershirt, not exercising his legs mid-season on, all designed to save weight. Keeping his helmet free of a paint undercoat saved 80g, which is said to represent an advantage of 0.0025s per lap.

He and his father Keke are the second father-son pairing, after Graham and Damon Hill, that have both won World Drivers' Championships.
