2009 was Formula One's last great fairy-tale story. A story which nearly never started amid a global financial crisis, and which could have been derailed so easily. Competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, the impossible happened. An understaffed, underfinanced and independent team won the World Championship, with a team that cost just £1. Never before or since has a team won both the drivers' and constructors' world championships on their very first attempt. Over a decade later and the fairy tale is well worn and widely known.
